My Birthday!

My mom knows me well. She made me a Toms cake! :) In my favorite color too! I love it, I haven't had the heart to cut it up and eat it lol.

Mommy and Aiden Day!

Wednesday I declared it to be a Mommy and Aiden day. So off to the zoo we went! The only bad thing was I forgot to put the memory card back in my camera :( But we had a blast! Aiden walked the ENTIRE time! I, for one, was shocked. After the zoo we went to Mardel, a Christian bookstore, and he got to pick out a shirt and I bought him a floor world puzzle (which I've been looking for forever). Here's one of the 7 pictures I did get to take. Aiden really liked looking at the baby giraffe and the ostriches that came right up to the fence.

Here is his world puzzle :) Aiden collects these animals figures made by Schleich and I wanted to teach him where all the animals live, so we were putting the animals on the puzzle map. Two games in one!

Good Things in Life

Those are not styrofoam bits...they are rice krispies! :) I thought it was pretty cute and had to share.

Benson being funny, holding onto his toy.

Our new family picture!

Mikey bought a car!! There's 2 weeks of class left!! It's been raining the wonderful Spring rainshowers!! Aiden got a Woody doll (from Toy Story). We joined a married life group. Church has been awesome (and we get to go again tomorrow). My birthday is coming up fast. Best of all...God is good...no God is GREAT! He never fails us, He walks with us everyday, and always answers our prayers in one way or another. :)

My latest cause...

Yesterday I went barefoot. To class, outside, driving, to work, and even out to dinner (but not in the restaraunt). Toms shoes promoted an event for people everywhere to go barefoot for a day to bring awareness to the children throughout the world that live their lives without shoes. Just one pair of shoes could protect these kids from getting diseases, that sometimes kill. Shoes, SHOES! Shoes could help save children!! That's it! That's why I buy Toms shoes :) For every pair of shoes you buy, they send a pair to a child in need! Some people say, "Well I just can't bring myself to spend $40+." What do I say? "Technically...you're paying for two pairs of shoes but one is going to a child in need!"

My day without shoes...really wasn't that hard, the tell the truth...I went to class with shoes on (I wasn't brave enough yet) but I took them off! I got a couple double glances, a few stares, but I walked proud knowing I was doing something worthwhile. I went to my car, which wasn't pleasant, I had to watch where I was stepping constantly. And on the way to the destination, my feet hurt from all the little rocks I stepped on, they were almost black from walking on dirty surfaces, and all I could think about were the kids that lived like that. One day, one hour and my feet were sore and these kids ran all over the place playing games, working, hauling water...My heart broke. It makes me want to walk barefoot everywhere, everyday and go deliver shoes myself!

One Week Later...

Everything is soo much better! Mikey and I have been praying a lot lately and we both feel much more content on how things are panning out. His license should be here any day, so he'll be able to apply for this job any day. Zoe started a training class, which makes me feel like a better owner-knowing she's happy and using her brain and that I'm helping not hindering. Since I quit my job, it's been so much easier! I'm starting to have little homeschool type lessons with Aiden and Cheyenne! We did our taxes and our debt is going to start dwindling quickly (which is very exciting!). I met with a Zoology advisor at school and she helped me with finding a grant that I might qualify for! Things are looking up!

I am looking forward to the next few months mainly because I'll have more time than ever with my wonderful husband! I love him very much and I'm pretty sure he knows it. :) We have finally made time to go to church regularly again and this weekend we are going to join a married couples life group! Mikey is so wonderful and understanding....he let me freak out and have a meltdown and didn't get too affected by it himself. I just had to brag on my husband for a minute.

I'll post pictures soon on all the stuff we've been doing!
